BLACK SKY

“Black Sky” is a military command in the Ukrainian army, signifying danger from the air. In such a situation, soldiers’ lives depend on proper orientation, speed, and the decisiveness of their actions.

For us, “Black Sky” symbolizes the circumstances we have found ourselves in due to Russian aggression against Ukraine. Similarly, our security—especially in the realm of information—is determined by our situational awareness within the world of information and Russian disinformation.

Black Sky

Media initiative primarily focused on the aggressive actions of the Russian Federation and its allies—with a particular emphasis on Belarus—and their consequences for neighboring states, the region, and the world. Our reporting addresses the issues of corruption that enrich these regimes, networks of connection and influence, the bypassing of sanctions, and the expansion of foreign interference.

Black Sky is composed of journalists and experts from Poland and Ukraine, as well as free Belarusians and Russians. The initiative is aimed at a broad audience in Eastern and Central Europe, as well as opinion-forming circles in Western Europe and the USA.

Analysis and verification

We combine OSINT, journalistic investigations, and expert analysis to expose corruption and hybrid threats. We turn digital data into strategic insight, clearing the fog of war.

Truth and integrity

Truth is our priority. We reject false objectivity that equates lies with facts. Real integrity means calling things by their real names and exposing hidden realities.

Multi-national team

Our team is comprised of journalists and researchers from Ukraine and Poland as well as of free Belarusians and Russians. In our work we use Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, Lithuanian, French, English, Spanish and other languages.
